The Wyoming Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction has been asked to write a report on the status of all schools in the state.  As part of this report they are collecting input from educators, parents and the community.  You thoughts and feedback are essential to this process and could be extremely helpful to the development of future educational policy.  Please take a few minutes to respond.

Pioneer Park is located in west Cheyenne. The school has a unique combination of programs serving a variety of populations. The regular education school serves a walk-in population. Students in this unit participate in Title I schoolwide projects with additional funding provided by the federal government. Also housed in the school is the Trailblazer* program, a K-6 academic high-potential school for qualified students from throughout the district. Pioneer Park School is highly supported by the parents and enjoys a rich tradition and reputation for student success and parent satisfaction.  Enrollment: approximately 400.

Title One and other Support Programs



Students residing within the following boundary
shall attend Pioneer Park Elementary School.
Boundary Description:   


Commencing at the intersection of Pershing Boulevard and Central Avenue, then south to the corner of Central Avenue and W. Lincolnway, southwesterly and extending to the corner of Westland Road and W. Lincolnway, extending North to the centerline of Old Happy Jack Road, westerly to the centerline of Old Happy Jack Road and the new Happy Jack Road alignment, northeasterly following the centerline of Happy Jack Road to the centerline of Interstate 25, north to Pershing Boulevard, east to the intersection of Pershing Boulevard and Central Avenue.

Arrival Time & Dismissal Procedures

Students are not to arrive before 8:20 a.m. unless transported by district transportation or arriving for 8:00 breakfast.   All students are to go directly to the playground unless eating breakfast in the cafeteria. Student may only enter the building with a pass from a member of the Pioneer Park staff. Students carrying a musical instrument may receive a pass to take it to their classroom.

Student receiving a ride after school should be picked up by 4:00. After-school supervision will be provided for bus students. The playground is supervised after school until 3:45. All students are to leave the playground and check-in at home. Students may not return to the school grounds before 4:15. There is no supervision on the playground after 3:45 p.m. The office closes at 4:15.


Art, Music, and Physical Education

Art – one 70 minute session per week
Physical Education ‑ 35 minute period twice a week
Vocal Music ‑ 35 minute period twice a week
Band ‑ Lessons provided twice each week as scheduled by instructor for grades 5‑6.
Strings ‑ Lessons provided twice each week as scheduled by instructor for grades 4‑6.
