Pioneer Park Elementary
School-wide Positive Behavior Plan

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) is a program designed to establish school behavioral expectations, consistently teach behavioral expectations to all students, and provide incentives to reinforce positive behavior.

As part of our school mission and vision to provide an environment that encourages life-long growth and responsibility, we have included PBIS as a necessary component of our collaborative learning community. This has been adopted to ensure all students are taught the behaviors and disciplines necessary for successful learning by our diverse population.

To create a positive school community, students have three general expectations to follow in all locations at Pioneer Park Elementary School. Students are expected to demonstrate respect for self, respect for others, and respect for property, as described in our Behavior Matrix.

The skills to demonstrate these levels of respect will be provided by staff with specific instruction, interventions, incentives, and consequences to ensure success. Students will be taught what rules and behaviors are expected in each location, with rules reviewed and re-taught as necessary throughout the year. Interventions have been designed to provide additional support with academic and behavioral needs. Incentives may be earned throughout the year to reinforce positive learning. Consequences provide learning opportunities for appropriate behaviors. Referrals will be based on the form provided. (Click here to view Referral Form)

We are implementing the PBIS plan with the belief that all children, given the necessary instructions and support, can be successful while a student at Pioneer Park. Our values state the staff's commitment to this belief. Plan to join us for our celebrations of our success!
